Let’s face it. New York City is gritty and stressful. If you let it, it will mold you into an automaton. Where do you go to slow down and recharge?
For me, I need to go back to nature. Trees, water, wildlife. These are the outdoor spots in and around the city that help me regain my humanity.
The aim of this blog is to provide a resource to folks in the city who want some fresh air and a change of scenery from the urban grid. The information I provide here is based on my experience(s) at each place and includes pictures that I took while there. These are all easy day trips that you can do in the city or a little further out in Long Island, Westchester, Upstate New York, or New Jersey. Some trips will require a car, but you won’t need camping gear or fancy hiking boots.
Keep watching this blog – I will try to post every week or so to give you some ideas for the weekend!
